EMMA cancelliere, phd

Emma's research considers the complex relationship between organisms and their nutritional landscapes through a multilayered ecological approach which considers behavior, dietary and digestive strategies, nutritional biochemistry, and environmental context. Her present work examines the developing gastrointestinal microbiome as it relates to dietary transitions in nutritionally constrained hominoids. Emma's dissertation work is supported by research grants from the National Science Foundation, Wenner-Gren Foundation, Explorer's Club, and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
