Ashok joined as a postdoctoral associate in The Gomez lab in 2018. He is using system-wide multi-omics approaches to understand diet-microbiome-host interactions in animal and human models under diverse physiological conditions. He is a pharmacist by training and very much interested in exploring the therapeutic potential of host-associated microbiomes. Additionally, he is working as a teaching and research mentor for a computational microbiology foundation course, where he is helping students in designing new hypotheses and executing them from already published microbiome projects. In his free time, he enjoys watching movies and playing outdoor games.
