Andres Gomez, principal investigator

Andres Gomez is an assistant professor in the Department of Animal Science, a  graduate faculty member in the Department of Food Science and Nutrition, and a member of the Microbial and Plant Genomics Institute at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Previous to joining the University of Minnesota, Andres held positions as a staff scientist at the J. Craig Venter institute, and a postdoctoral research associate working with Ran Blekhman at the University of Minnesota. He holds a PhD in animal sciences from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, where he was advised by professor Bryan White. Andres is originally from Medellin, Colombia, where he completed his BSc and MSc degrees at Universidad Nacional.
